Erfahren Sie mehr über AI and the Future of Scientific Publishing Zurück Graz 24. Juni 2025 AI and the Future of Scientific Publishing AI and the Future of Scientific Publishing PhD David Flanagan (Vice President, AI Services at Wiley) Dienstag, 24. Juni 2025, 12:00 Uhr Technische Universität Graz Kopernikusgasse 24, EG, HS H "Ulrich Santner“ In this presentation, Dave Flanagan (Wiley) will share findings from a comprehensive study examining researchers' attitudes and approaches to AI adoption in scholarly publishing, drawing insights from nearly 5,000 researchers across 158 countries and 60+ disciplines. The research reveals that while 69% of researchers believe AI skills will be critical in their field within two years, significant barriers exist around implementation guidance and ethical standards. Through quantitative analysis and in-depth interviews, the study identified key use cases where researchers see immediate value in AI assistance, particularly in manuscript preparation and research workflow optimization. The presentation will discuss these findings and explore their implications for the future of academic publishing, highlighting how the scholarly community can work together to harness AI's potential while maintaining research integrity and quality.

Begrenzte Teilnehmerzahl. Zur Anmeldung Ort Wirtschaftskammer Österreich, Saal 5 Wiedner Hauptstraße 63, 1045 Wien (Zufahrt Parkgarage via Schönburgstraße)

  • GÖCH | Veranstaltungen | 9th European Symposium of Photopolymer Science

Erfahren Sie mehr über 9th European Symposium of Photopolymer Science Zurück Wien 07. - 11. September 2026 9th European Symposium of Photopolymer Science The field of photopolymer science continues year after year to steadily advance fueled both by academic enthusiasm and by industrial pragmatism. The numerous environmental and economic benefits of light induced chemistry make these technologies popular for manufacturers and fabricators within a wide range of different industrial sectors. The European Symposium of Photopolymer Science (ESPS) aims to bring together the brightest minds from both academia and industry to collectively present and discuss the fundamental issues within this still burgeoning field. The meeting consists of seminars from not just European but international leaders of photopolymer science with topics addressing critical issues such as photochemistry, reaction kinetics, analytical methods, photoinitiator and monomer synthesis, structure-property relations, polymer processing, as well as applications. The first ESPS meeting was held in Mulhouse, France in 2010. Over the last 15 years the conferenc place changed to other outstanding locations like Torino, Vienna , Leipzig, Mulhouse , Istanbul and Stresa . Also an virtual symposium took place in 2021 during the pandemic period and attracted nearly 500 participants from all over the world. Looking to continue a tradition of excellence set by the previous meetings, the Vienna University of Technology will host the Ninth Symposium to be held September 7-11, 2026 . It is the intention of the organizers to provide ample time for discussion to emphasize the workshop character and stimulate the exchange of new ideas. The program will be mainly based on invited talks given by respectable scientists working in the field of photopolymer science. In addition, other contributed papers with 15 minutes allotted for presentations as well as posters may be submitted. For both categories there will be given 3 awards for the best presentation Topics that will be discussed at the meeting include: (but are by no means limited to): Radical and Cationic Radiation Curing Processes Thiol-Ene Polymerizations Oxygen Inhibition Polymerization Kinetics Novel Concepts Advanced Materials and Applications Additive Manufacturing / 3D Printing Hydrogels and Biomaterials Medical and Dental Materials More information

Erfahren Sie mehr über Design of XAS experiments for uncovering active sites in heterogeneous catalysts Zurück Wien 11. März 2025 Design of XAS experiments for uncovering active sites in heterogeneous catalysts Design of XAS experiments for uncovering active sites in heterogeneous catalysts Olga Safonova (Paul Scherrer Institute PSI) X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) is a powerful tool for uncovering the structure of active sites in heterogeneous catalysts. In this talk, I will show how one can design ex situ, in situ, and operando XAS experiments to decipher the descriptors of catalytic activity, distinguish active species from spectators, and detect the surface intermediates. The methodology will be illustrated by the examples from our recent works on preferential oxidation of carbon monoxide over supported Pt-FeOx catalysts, oxidative dehydrogenation of alcohols over supported VOx species promoted by titania and ceria, and CO2 hydrogenation catalysis over Cu-Ga particles. Einladung, Details und Abstract Zeit: 11. März 2025, 17:30 Uhr Ort: Universität Wien, Lise-Meitner-Hörsaal, Strudlhofgasse 4, 1. Stock
