"Dear colleagues,
We are delighted that the Blue Danube Symposium series returns to Hungary in 2026. The meetings that started as the regional gathering of organic chemists working with heterocycles from Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary, later also incorporated Slovenia. Besides growing in attendance and becoming more international, in the recent years we also acknowledged the pivotal role these molecules play by expanding into such diverse areas as molecular electronics, medicinal chemistry or chemical biology.
The capacity of the meeting is limited to allow for stimulating scientific discussions and an active social program alike. The Blue Danube Symposia also consider it their mission to showcase the emerging talents by dedicating a considerable part of the oral presentation slots to them.
The growing list of plenary speakers includes:
Didier Borissou (University of Toulouse, F)
Ivan Huc (University of München, D)
Tibor Kürti (Rice University, US)
Daniele Leonori (RWTH Aachen University, D)
Bill Morandi (ETH Zürich, CH)
Raphael Rodriguez (Institute Curie, F)
