About the
AUSTRIAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY
The Austrian Chemical Society (GÖCH) is an association founded in 1897 that has represented the interests of chemists throughout Austria for over 125 years.
Through our six regional branches, we support around 1,800 members on a range of topics—from technical questions and professional networking to career transitions. Financial support for our members includes discounts on scientific journals and events, travel grants, as well as awards and funding for scientific work.
Topics related to analytical chemistry are handled within GÖCH by the Society for Analytical Chemistry (ASAC).
To meet the specific needs of students, GÖCH has a dedicated working group called “Young Chemistry.” This group is aimed at early-career chemists and organizes relevant lectures, excursions, and networking events through its regional representatives.
In addition to supporting and connecting our members professionally, we are committed to promoting the public image of chemistry through targeted public outreach—often in collaboration with other organizations—and to contributing to solutions for current issues through our 18 subject-specific working groups and their expert discussions and events.
